About Hospital

The two entrance pillars at the hospital were built of stones which were taken from a pile made in 1952 at a festival to commemorate the landing of Jan van Riebeeck at the Cape. Sealed signatures can be found behind a bronze plate on the pillars.

The voortrekkers were overwhelmed that Van Riebeeck brings civilization into the country.
