Patensie is a fine area in which to enjoy a holiday or a getaway from city life at more economical rates than at some of the nearby resorts. It is also ideally situated for excursions to Jeffrey's Bay, St Francis Bay, Cape St Francis and Port Elizabeth.

It also lies at the eastern entrance to the Baviaanskloof Wilderness area, making it ideal as a place to stop over on your way into or out of the Baviaanskloof in order to maximise your time there.  If you want to make a day trip into the Wilderness area, Patensie is the ideal base from which to start as the Wilderness area lies at the eastern end of the Baviaanskloof.
