The mill was built during 1847 by N.P.H. Rademeyer. He built approximately 18 mills in his lifetime. He worked from Alexandria up to Riversdal and Van Wyksdorp. He was also instrumental in building the first public road through the Tsitsikamma Forest. There is a strong stream passing the area and that was the reason for building the water mill at that location.

The Kouga Cultural Centre is an economic development project of the Kouga Municipality, EC 108. The project began with the construction of a unique landmark African building in the town of Humansdorp, Eastern Cape.

The Market Square was developed in 1861 as a resting place for the ox wagons of travellers and of the farmers who would come to town for the church services on Sundays. A set of ox wagon tracks is evidence of the treks of 1938 until 1988. The Voortrekkers planted a Coral tree on the market Square as a remembrance of their activities.

Jeffreys Bay has always been associated with its beautiful & rich variety of shells. The Shell Museum of Jeffreys Bay has become world renowned & is visited by shell fanatics from all over. Here in serene ambience, housed in glass cases like preciuos jewels, are a variety of shells from all over the world. See the legendary cowry, the rare paper nautilus, tiny baby jam tarts, & a new species of cone. The Shell Museum is open Monday to Saturdays from 09h00 to 16h00 & Sundays between 09h00 & 13h00. Local shells & shell craft can be purchased just outside the museum from the shell shops & stalls.

The two entrance pillars at the hospital were built of stones which were taken from a pile made in 1952 at a festival to commemorate the landing of Jan van Riebeeck at the Cape. Sealed signatures can be found behind a bronze plate on the pillars. The voortrekkers were overwhelmed that Van Riebeeck brought civilization into the country.

Seal Point lighthouse is situated approximately 30 km from Humansdorp and 100 km from port Elizabeth and is home to the tallest masonry building, standing 27.75 meters high. The focal plane is 36 meters above sea level and the light has a range of 28 sea miles.

The museum is situated in Bureau Street, Humansdorp. This museum is a huge source of the historic information from the 1800's. The history of ship wrecks, cultures, medicinal plants, heritage etc, is available for public knowledge. This museum assists researchers and students in gaining information about Humansdorp. Visitors can trace the growth and development of Humansdorp through displays of farming implements, photos, clothing and crockery.

The need to create a surf museum in Jeffreys Bay was for many reasons. Essentially, Jeffreys Bay is one of the top ten surfing destinations in the world, so to have a surf museum in this typically surf driven town was always a must. The world renowned "Super Tubes", a famous point break right-hander is the pinnacle of Jeffreys Bay and the destination that every young surfer throughout the world aspires to one day being able to ride. It is the perfect wave surrounded by dolphins and the occasional whale. Nature at her best...
